Hello to you all, I would first like to apologise for my lack of communication this year. There has been A LOT happening here and even though writing the blog was on my list it kept getting pushed back down to the bottom...you know how it is.
It was a slow start to the year regarding flowery loveliness because we had to have all our 80 foot Conifers taken out as they started falling in the storms we had. There were 180 of them so it was no easy task, our lovely farmer neighbour came and took them all away for us but unfortunately the ground was wet and the tractor churned up all my lawn. (deep sigh and a mini cry)!
This meant that all my beds had to be rearranged and I was slow starting seed sowing and bed prep and all the other things involved growing a successful flower crop... moving on though because I like to focus on the good stuff and at least that's the biggest job done and out of the way.
The flower farm is coming on in leaps and bounds, and has been and currently is in full bloom with lots of beautiful specimins. The Dahlias at the minute are just to die for. I have had some new interest from local florists and have been working with them this year. I am hoping to develop the relationship with them so we can get more pesticide free British Blooms out and about. If you are a follower of mine on Social Media you will see pics of the latest wedding of the gorgeous Hannah who had flowers all colours of the rainbow, it was amazing and she looked beautiful in a flower crown made from my flowers. Just dreamy!
In addition to all this I have been creating fabrics and homeware from my Flower photos and my art, some of which have already been added to the website. Don't forget to check back regularly to see the new additions.
Finally, I have just created an event on the bank holiday weekend Sunday 28th August where I invite you to get your ticket to come and say farewell to the summer with me, I will walk you round the flower farm and talk to you about plans for next year. I also have an enormous amount of stock that I have accumulated over the years that will be for sale at bargain prices, vases pots and much more. Your ticket price also includes drinks and cake and you get to take home a cute little Jam Jar posy.
It would be lovely to see you all and have a natter, just head over to the more tab on the website and go to book online, click on the Summer Farewell tab and the jobs a good un! If there are any events you would like me to look at hosting then please do get back in touch with me or send me a response to this blog or mail if you are a subscriber.
Lots of love and flowery wishes
Sally XX
